US X Factor judge L.A. Reid has apparently let slip that Cheryl Cole definitely will be joining him on the panel for the hugely anticipated show.
L.A. Reid is the former Island Def Jam chairman who last month became the first person announced to join Simon Cowell on the judging panel.
Head honcho Cowell has recently stated that Cole was still "in the mix" of those who could land one of the two remaining positions.
However, her chances were looking increasingly shaky, with other candidate such as Nicole Scherzinger having a far larger profile on the other side of the Atlantic.
According to The Mirror, Reid said: "We're gonna compete against American Idol just fine. I'm very confident.
“But along with Simon Cowell and Cheryl, I don't know who the other judge is."
What willl this mean for Cole's future on the UK version? It’s been claimed that Cowell has told ITV bosses that he will remain part of the next series, which would mean there’s no reason why Cole can’t appear herself.
Auditions for the US X Factor began in Los Angeles on March 27 and continue on to Newark (April 14), Seattle (April 20), Chicago (April 27) and Dallas (May 26).
