"Never Forget": Veja as primeiras imagens do clipe solo de Lena Katina, ex-integrante do t.A.T.u

Com o fim oficial da dupla russa de falsas lésbicas t.A.T.u, ao final do mês de março deste ano, Lena Katina começou a se dedicar apenas à sua carreira solo.

Espera-se que a cantora lance o seu primeiro álbum solo ainda este ano ou no início de 2012, sob a gravadora criada juntamente com sua parceira de banda, a T.A. Music.

O primeiro single oficial da carreira solo de Lena, intitulado "Never Forget", teve sua estreia em uma rádio mexicana no último dia 17 de junho. O clipe da faixa já foi gravado e, utilizando seu site oficial, Lena divulgou algumas fotos das gravações do vídeo. Veja:

Apesar das férias, Cheryl Cole grava novas músicas em Los Angeles

Após os escândalos envolvendo sua participação no X Factor americano e no The Voice britânico, Cheryl Cole tirou uns dias de folga e viajou para Los Angeles com sua companheira de Girls Aloud, Kimberley Walsh.

A cantora britânica também está nos Estados Unidos para gravar algumas cenas adicionais para o X Factor, reality show que estreia em setembro. Mas não é por nenhum desses fatores que ela e seu empresário na terra do Tio Sam, will.i.am, vão deixar o plano de fazer de Cheryl um grande nome no mercado musical americano.

Cheryl ainda planeja lançar seu álbum "Messy Little Raindrops" nos Estados Unidos este ano. A versão americana do álbum trará também os sucessos do "3 Words", músicas inéditas e outras repaginadas.
De acordo com o tablóide The Sun, a cantora de "Promise This" esteve gravando novas músicas no famoso Sunset Marquis Hotel Studios, onde outros nomes da música, como Madonna, Cindy Lauper e Chaka Khan já gravaram.
Uma fonte próxima à cantora informou ao jornal: "Cheryl amou trabalhar nesses estúdios. Algumas das cantoras que já gravaram lá são suas heroínas de muito tempo."
"Esse foi o lugar perfeito para Cheryl colocar sua cabeça de volta ao trabalho", concluiu a fonte.
Nas últimas semanas, Cheryl Cole chocou a todos no Reino Unido ao, supostamente, estar em processo de voltar a se relacionar com seu ex-marido, o jogador da seleção inglesa de futebol Ashley Cole, que foi pego em uma série de relações extra-conjugais durante os anos que estiveram casados.

First-ever hearing to repeal DOMA scheduled in the Senate

Today, Senator Patrick Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, announced a hearing on the Respect for Marriage Act, the bill that would overturn DOMA, scheduled for Wednesday July 20th. The hearing will be the first time Congress has heard testimony on legislation that would end federal marriage discrimination against gay and lesbian couples. 

 

“With thousands of loving and committed couples in New York set to marry this month, now is the perfect time for the Senate to begin the process of repealing the discriminatory so-called Defense of Marriage Act,” said Freedom to Marry National Campaign Director Marc Solomon.  “Until DOMA’s enactment, the federal government had always honored marriages celebrated in the states. It’s time for Congress to end this gay exception and allow legally married same-sex couples access to the tools and security available to all other couples to build a life together and protect their families.”

DOMA prevents married same-sex couples from caring for and taking responsibility for each other by excluding them from the 1,138 federal laws in which marital status is a factor.  As a result, these couples are denied the essential federal safety-net couples pay for with their tax dollars, including: sharing Social Security benefits with a spouse, sponsoring a spouse for a green card or citizenship, filing joint federal tax returns, receiving the protections spouses are entitled to under the federal estate tax, and access to family medical leave.   The Respect for Marriage Act repeals DOMA in its entirety, returning the federal government to a neutral position that respects all couples married according to state law.   

“Freedom to Marry is proud to be working closely with Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, lead sponsor Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Richard Blumenthal  and others to advance the Respect for Marriage Act,” said Solomon.

Since opening a Washington presence earlier this year, Freedom to Marry has played a key leadership role in advancing the Respect for Marriage Act and fighting for the repeal of DOMA.  Federal Director Jo Deutsch has worked closely with House and Senate Judiciary Committee staff and our bipartisan team of lobbyists has met with Democratic and Republican members of Congress and their staff on the Respect for Marriage Act.  Additionally, Freedom to Marry’s field team is working closely with state partners to set up constituent meetings with members of Congress to share real stories about the harms of DOMA.  This year, Freedom to Marry members have sent more than 25,000 email messages to Congressmembers lobbying for passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, in nearly every legislative district in the country.
